Rise of Empires

The Dark Empire had begun unseen by all but a few desperate souls who fought to prevent the coming of Armageddon... they would fail. The coming of the Anti Christ would not, however, be the end of mankind as the coming of World War III ended with his destruction and the defeat of his armies. As the Earth emerged from ruin, a New Order brought about peace on Earth and united mankind towards the goal of colonizing space. Mars would be their objective and as the colonies on Mars came into their own, they would break free from the New World order demanding independence and bringing about a War of the Worlds. Leaving Earth once more in ruin, new wars erupted and a powerful leader emerged from the chaos unifying the world under his rule. Having left the Earth defenseless and incapable of creating starships to reach Mars which would not be detected and destroyed, Mars was unprepared when a powerful warship appeared out of nowhere and Earth would not be prepared to learn that it's liberator was now it's supreme master! The second war between Mars and Earth would not fair as well for Mars as the powerful warship devastated their forces. As it approached Mars, the first of many starships fled the Sol star system to escape the one now calling himself the God Emperor as already there were fears as to who he truly was. The warship would be the first of the Hellbringer class starship and with the defeat of Mars, the God Emperor did not pursue after those humans fleeing him... in fact, he seemed to be encouraging their escape!

A thousand years would pass and during this time, the human race would expand to thousands of worlds forming colonies and new empires of their own. It was only then that the nightmare of the Dark Empire finally followed in pursuit after them.

The Challenge ~

Every year, DreamslayerArtworks hosts the annual INVASION contest and every year it has a theme. However, this year, the theme only follows in the tradition of the contest and you are free to do any image based on any science fiction invasion theme, or science fiction epic, you can imagine. The purpose of this contest is to celebrate your love for science fiction and you have a simple premise set before you... the world is being invaded by aliens. What world is up to you... who the invaders are is up to you... and where they come from is up to you as not all invaders come from space. This year, there are no themes and you may do images based on anything you desire. You are in control whether you are the invader, the invaded or a casual observer recording the events... or fighting desperately for survival! The theme "Rise of Empires" allows you to expand on the invasion theme to war and the creation of empire.

We hope you will participate and enjoy this years INVASION competition as the theme is yours to choose from movies and tv series to books and your own imagination!

The Rules ~

* No child nudity

* All images must be new and original

* You must wait at least three full days before posting images elsewhere

* Images do not have to follow the story but must follow a science fiction theme of invasion and or empire. This can be about any sci fi theme from movies to books to tv or your own vivid imagination.
