Google Chrome Download Status Bar Recovery was created by Armorbeast
Had to do this myself as their new download statusbar finally kicked in on my computer making it look a bit too much like Firefox. I first tried Download Statusbar which is an extension for Chrome that works but not like the original. I see a lot of people hate the new statusbar which appears to have launched in February and even though I've done updates since then, it only recently activated on my computer. Download Statusbar just wasn't working the way I wanted so I decided to search for an answer and I found this one which works. But, if you have Download Statusbar activated, remove it first as it will error out on you and force you to restart your computer even if you remove it from your extensions. I can't say this is permanent as maybe your next update will undo this fix.

Note that he speaks with a heavy accent and he's saying to type chrome://flags/ to get the proper page up and then type Downloads which should bring up the correct page. Mine had a few more options than what his shows but you want to Disable Download Bubble and Download Bubble V2. Restart Google Chrome and it should now have your download bar back on the bottom and the button on top should be gone.

Remember, create a System Restore point first so if a problem happens, you can undo it.

This is posted here purely for humour. IT DOES WORK. I made this using a simple Text-2-Speech so as to get my revenge on those pesky cold callers and scammers, and for some weird reason it has worked. I've recorded many landline and mobile numbers over a lengthy period and then I thought it was time to do something. Trying to get those numbers was pointless as these scammers simply high-jack legit numbers for their purpose. So, I came up with this. Scammers calling scammers. At first it was starting to look as though I've wasted my time. Then I noticed fewer calls. I guess they don't like talking to other scammers. So far I have fewer than one a month. Now, I have time to talk with them and lead them on with expected hope until they realise I've just waisted their time. Them when they call me back with abuse they are met with my messagebank. Quite funny when they try to upset my freind. I am hoping to get A.I. working so my A.I. will call them back at odd hours. I could also register them with other scammer databases or porn sites where they would receive many emails. I have too much time on my hands, obviously.

How is this related to the topic lol... maybe should be a separate topic by itself?
